09-23-09

About a week ago, I was reading an issue of Good Housekeeping..and I love to see what they give props to. Sometimes I try those items out..sometimes I already have..and sometimes there's just no use for them in my life. Well, they were talking about E.L.F (eyeslipsface.com) and how much they loved their products and then? Then they busted out the price tag. Their regular line is $1 per item..their Studio line is like $3-$5 per item and they also have a Minerals line and a line for the preteens (but I'm sure there are adults out there who love that line..just not my thing.) called Sugar Kiss. I started watching reviews on Youtube about it..everyone was raving..the biggest downside to E.L.F everyone said? Was their shipping time. Okay..I can wait this supposed 2 weeks to try out products that are like a buck each. So I ordered a few of their products. A test run. If I didn't like them? Whatever, it was just a few bucks..not a big deal.

To my surprise, I had a package from Elf in my mailbox on Saturday! What what what? 4 days? It only took 4 days for shipping (I'd ordered on Wednesday)? I live in Hawaii..they're based in New York! I was seriously expecting it to take 2-3 weeks..because everyone said it would. I love getting packages in the mail! I love makeup! WOOHOO!

I love that liquid eyeliner (in Ash..I'm ordering more colors next week) and the therapeutic conditioning balm. The mascara (Earth and Water mascara duo..one side is regular the other is waterproof) is okay..but I prefer a more volumizing mascara (that's one of the items I'm ordering next week to try out)

This is the Studio line's Large Makeup Collection..this was not a dollar. It sells for $40 but I had a coupon code for 50% off so I couldn't say no, really. I've always loved big makeup kits like this..I don't care. So many colors to play with..loves it.

(I'd also ordered a couple of nail polish shades and like..eye makeup remover pads. Nothing too exciting there..but I do have to say I'm in love with their Punk Purple shade.)

And that's another thing..there are SO many coupon codes out there to save all kinds of money on these already really super inexpensive products..and to get free things thrown in with your order. But, I wish you could use more than one coupon code at a time. Not a bunch of them..but like..even 2 at once would be cool (like to save a few bucks but if the amount you're spending is still that to get a free gift, I wish you could do that too). At any rate..I like them a lot so far and have 41 more products in my shopping cart to purchase next week.

I've been playing in the large kit..hehehe. I'm so scared of putting colors on my lids (besides like vanilla, browns, and light purples..stuff I know looks good)..but I'm always so tempted to. I admire the women who bust out the risky colors! So I'm trying. A little bit. Ya know..without looking like a street walker. Today, I thought I would call the pallet I chose Ode to Amanda..one of my sisters. She's one of those women who are totally not afraid to add some color. I miss her and love her to pieces so I did this:

I'm a little burnt from Sunday's events haha..and starting to peel from it..and hormonal and breaking out a bit..so the skin is not in the best condition today. But that's okay because I am wearing a super pretty shade of green eyeshadow and this gorgeous pink lip stain (which, honestly, for me? Lasts the majority of the day..and that NEVER happens for me).

The husband thinks it's sexy. :)

Also..Happy Birthday, Mike!!

So pretty! I'm always too scared to use color too, but I want to. I can't bring myself to spend money on colors that I don't know if I'll actually wear it. Maybe I'll have to take a look at this website though. Sounds reasonable enough! Thanks for the info!

Not a huge fan of make-up, as you know, but that's very pretty! And reasonably-priced!

Nice! Here, our Target carries their products. We give our YW their lipglosses as their birthday gift.

Ok I ordered the mineral makeup starter kit after reading this because I've always wanted to try mineral makeup but it's always so expensive, googled a coupon code and got it for 75% off! Not bad at all!
