Check this out:
He and Calix think they're roller skates lately. I don't know. I think I'll need to get them each a pair of those beginner skates for Christmas or something.
Speaking of Maddox - I went out to get the mail yesterday. Our mailbox is not in front of our house..but across the street and on the corner. The kids usually just stand at the door (if they're awake) and watch me from there. I opened the box..pulled out our mail and started to head back home. It was then that I saw this Mini Cooper turn the corner and head towards where I was..at a way too fast for a neighborhood speed. I cross the street and Maddox comes FLYING out of the house running down the sidewalk just as I get to the corner of our lawn I'm screaming "stop!! stop!! Maddox stop!!!! STOPPP!!!!!" and I'm running at him as fast as I've ever run and his foot drops down into the street just as the Mini Cooper is also whipping around our corner. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh! I grab Maddox by the arm JUST in time and practically have a heart attack at the same time. I cried. I shook for the next 30 minutes. Maddox cried for the next hour. Seriously. He thought he was in trouble (and doesn't like being scolded..he's sensitive)..I just had to explain that he's not allowed to go outside without mommy or daddy holding his hand because people around here drive too fast. (though I will say the person driving the mini stopped as soon as they whipped around the corner and saw a wee one stepping into the road..which I'm thankful for..but still. STILL! THERE ARE BABIES AROUND!)
Ah, mommy heart attack moments. You have to have one in order to earn your next grey hair.

You've seen my hair recently, right?
Hey, I love the roller skates picture!
Ha to the roller skates! They are such funny boys. Roller skates would be a fun present for them I bet.
The roller skates are so funny! What creativity!
I've had those car and tot moments...SCARY!!! I feel ya.
Chain that kid to a Moanalua tree. He's acting like Jonah used to act, always throwing himself into deadly situations. I think we had to turn his crib into a jail cell and keep him under constant guard. I dove through a second floor window once and caught him just as he was about to fall to his death. Hey, do they make those shoes in my size?
Love,
The Ancient of Weeks
