Appley!

I've had this recipe for homemade applesauce sitting in my recipe box on Allrecipes.com for a while now and I kept telling myself I really needed to make my own. So today, because I have an abundance of apples that I don't want to go bad and get wasted..I decided to get to work.

8 little guys getting a bath

chopped and mostly peeled (next time I'd probably leave all of the peels on for those extra vitamins) and sitting in their pot with water, sugar (I'd probably half the sugar, too), and cinnamon

cook, little guys..cook!

Soft and ready to go into the blender (I like it smooth..but ya know..you can leave it chunky if you prefer it that way, too)

All smoothed out and ready for the fridge!

It's so super delicious and if you've never made your own applesauce before..I highly recommend you give it a whirl. Yum!

Oh yum! I love homemade applesauce. We did this for a YW activity with the girls last fall and it was so delicious, even without any sugar.

BTW, with bug juice, you can even use bad/bruised apples, and you juice them core, seeds, and all. No waste! Any fruit or veggies that I have that get a little too squishy or bruised for eating, I just throw them in the juicer the next morning for bug juice.

Corbin made something that looks similar to that in his diaper last night. I'm sure yours smells and tastes better though! :-D
