14 Days!!

Hey..say, this is my 600th post about nothing special..just my little life. Okay, for my 500th I gave you something I'd never done before.

Have a couple of useless facts!

When I was 19 I went to an open casting call for Gus Van Sant's movie he was filming in Portland, OR called Elephant. He needed a ton of "students". I didn't get one of the parts..but Kyra did.

When I was 16 and on my way home from NY to CO on a Greyhound bus..in order to protect myself from a couple of angry black girls that wanted to beat me up, I made buddy buddy with a few big black guys who were hungry. I'd feed them..they'd keep me safe. Every time one of them got off the bus..the torch would be passed. Keep this girl safe and she will feed you. (I had like $3 to my name but Ethan and Sharis had loaded up a bag for me of pizza, soda, muffins, fruits..etc)

I've always been that way, I guess. I like to feed people. It must be the Italian in me or something. Mom used to get mad because I'd cook huge amounts of food when I lived with her and invite a ton of people from the neighborhood over. I just liked sitting around a big table full of friends and filling their bellies. Ya know..on mom's dime.

Okay, that's enough of that. Today, I sent Orion off to work with a tray of goodies for the guys at work:

There was supposed to be a larger variety but I couldn't track down maraschino cherries anywhere for that one cookie..and then I ran out of white flour when I got to the candy cane cookies. I thought I'd JUST bought a big thing of flour but apparently not. And though the candy cane cookies turned out just lovely..I ended up having to make them with half wheat and half white and wasn't sure how the guys would handle that. So they stay here for my little family. And no white flour (and no time to go to the store) meant the other cookies had to be saved for another time. But hey..they get chewy coconut macaroons, chewy double chocolate chunk (white and dark) cookies, and peanut butter fudge. It's SOMETHING and something is better than nothing. At least I tried.

ghost child. Oooo OOOOO ooooo!!!! The ghost of Christmas precious.

snug as a bug in a rug

The best little gifts ever!

Today, after I get caught up on laundry..I think I'll start packing a little bit. Orion has off on Friday and then doesn't work again until Christmas Eve and then doesn't work again until New Year's Eve (but probably barely because that's when our final inspection is and he'll need to be at this house for it) and then works for 2 weeks and then is taking a 15 day leave around the time mom and David come out to visit (they're not going to be here for 15 days..don't read that the wrong way) and to just generally spend a chunk of time with his family. It'll be nice to have him around...here's to hoping I don't get too sick of having him around all the time!

Hey..gas around these military parts is down to $1.99 ($2.30 for non-military peeps)..what does it look like around your neck of the woods?

Also.. Happy birthday, Grandmom VanSciver! And Happy Anniversary Dad and Raelene!

Aww! I love the lil snuggly bugs! Too cute!

Hey Abby, I need the address of where I can send your Christmas card. I'm hoping it will get there before Christmas, so the one you are currently living at would be perfect. Send it to my email: soupydoop77@yahoo.com.

Thanks!
Sarah

P.S. I paid $1.53 for gas this afternoon.

Nevermind...I just heard about your computer problem and I'm so very sorry! Josiah's blew up a few weeks ago so we know how it feels. I was able to get your address from your mom though, so your card will still be on its way!
