Dinner and road trips

Wow..I feel like I never write in here anymore. That's sad.

Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa (O's) came over for Sunday dinner with us. I was so nervous about them liking what I'd cooked this time (because they've loved my actual down home cookin..like the classics so much that I wasn't sure if I'd get as good of a response with this)..and nervous about 'omg..can they even eat this? because some old people can't eat steak..'. Anyway, I'd made filet mignon, rosemary mashed potatoes, and of course a nice leafy salad. Let me just say..they. loved. it. I've never seen plates scraped so clean before in my life! What a compliment!

Needless to say, it went very well. I invited them over for Thanksgiving dinner..ya know, in case grams wanted a year off from cooking all of that food for once. She said the offer's very enticing..and maybe she could bring a pie or something. We'll see!

Anyway, we're just about on our way out the door on a little family (my side) history road trip to Burkesville, KY..where my great grandparents lived (and other things of the such) and my mother spent much of her childhood. SO..that's that.
