Mii oh my

I'm always curious about what everyone's Miis look like. Do you make yours to look as close to yourself as possible..or do you make someone else just because..whatever, it's just a Mii? This is mine. Orion thinks she looks a heck of a lot like me. I think she does, too. Especially when she's turned to the side and you can see how triangle-esque her nose is..just like mine. She's pretty cute. Like her freckle under her eye? It's my favorite freckle. If I had the option to put tons of freckles on her face, trust that I would have. BUT..you get a 1 freckle option. That's okay, too.

Besides that, I stared at the treadmill for a while today. Then I put my shoes and socks on and continued to stare at it. Okkaaayyyyy, fine! I'm not a runner by any means..but I want to be. Ya know..sort of. I want to be ABLE to run without dying. Ya know.. choices. I'd like to be able to go out for a run with my husband at some point because I think couples who run together are adorable. Someday.

I also took full body pictures and am going to take a new one every week so I can see the progress and then..perhaps when I've reached my goal weight (or the neighborhood of it) I'll make a little video to show the slimming down-ness. So that's cool.

All right, good talk. I think we made a breakthrough just now.

Me, too. And that's enough for one day!

I've been plagued with thoughts of running too lately! It bugs the heck out of me that I'm not a runner! I've even been talking to Miriam Jensen on FB about advice. I think I need to just start. There's a novel idea!

Jenna, that's how I feel about it. I just have to start. I used to run. Ya know..in track and all of that. And I was *fast*, too. But that was like..11 years ago. Things change.

Seriously, the short run on Wii fit got me started again. It was something (and I thought I was going to DIE the first time). Then the longer run was better. And now I'm up to running on the treadmill. It's all about pacing yourself. Do what you can. It doesn't matter if it's only a minute. There was a point when I was going to the gym everyday that I would try to run and I could seriously only do about 30 minute stretches before getting too winded. But since I've started again, I'm up to 10 minutes at a steady pace of 5 1/2mph. It's not super fast..but it's a nice jog. It's something. I'm working up to more.

If you're concerned about people staring at you or whatever (like I am)..start by jogging in place in your living room. Seriously. See how much you can do and then build yourself up to the track at school or around the block or something. You can do it!

My Mii looks like me unless my son gets in there and puts a beard on me! He's silly like that. He'll do it for a "surprise" when I get on there.

At first I was all amazed that your starting point was "30 minute stretches", but then I figured out that you meant 30 second. That would be about me. Well, maybe because of all my power walking I could do a bit better, but not much.

Once when I lived in Show Low and I was trying to be a runner, I built up to being able to run one mile. The first time I did it, I cried as I passed the 'finish line', like I'd just won on Price is Right or something. It was so emotional for me. I need to do that again.

And, no, one of the good things about getting older, is that I don't give a darn who sees me or what they think. But then again, I got 10 years on ya. :)
