20 Days!

I want to make tins of cookies and treats to send with Orion to work for all of the fellas. My holiday nod to them.

I used to bake goodies for the guys he worked with at Knox all the time. He'd come home with requests on many many occasions. So and so wants the pumpkin cheesecake you made last year. So and so wants chewy chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies. I want snickerdoodles. On and on. Seriously, the night before we moved they were still requesting last minute treats. Aww..guys!

My list of treats goes like this:

Candy Cane Cookies (of course. Hopefully they don't kick my butt this year)
Snickerdoodles (Orion's fave)
Sugar Cookies
Russian Teacakes (ughhh I love them)
Peanut Butter Fudge (cause you *have* to throw fudge into the mix)
Chocolate Chunk Cookies (on page 37 of The Ultimate Cookie Book)
Chewy Coconut Macaroons (page 41)
White Chocolate and Raspberry Cookies (page 70)
Cherry Chocolate Kisses (page 194)

I wanted to try the Norwegian Kringla (page 322)..but I don't think I've ever had it so I don't know if I'd add it to the mix. And for my own little family for Christmas morning, I think I'll attempt the Peppermint Twist Biscotti (page 422)

Who thinks that list is too adventurous for a woman with two crazy children who never give her 3 seconds alone? It's what I *want* to do..let see how much I actually get done.

My weekend project.

Orion's been working his tail off for the lighting ceremony. He's the set up and take down detail NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge). He has to impress a 3 star general who has all of these requests..and as of today, it's all done and Orion can breathe again. He deserves a good back rub after the babies are in bed. :)

I was just planning my cookie baking assault today too! That cookie book Mom got us has way too many good ones that I must try. Just must not eat them, that's all.

Have fun! You can do it. It shouldn't be too bad if you get all of your ingredients ready.

Fun! I finally conquered the mess that is called my kitchen yesterday, so now I can get excited about baking! YAY! I need to pull out my cookie book too and try some new things out. Mostly I want to bake some cinnamon rolls! YUM!

Oh, girls, we are cut from the same cloth! I've been immersed in my cookie books too for the past three days! Wouldn't it be awesome if we lived close enough that we could divide up the list and then bake like crazy and share?
