Yesterday, we met up with Nightshade and her lil guy Owen and headed out to the Louisville Zoo. It. Was. Hot. Really fucking hot. Too hot for a penguin. We only ended up lasting for about 2 hours.. and long enough for me to go buy Calix a Louisville Zoo t-shirt and stuffed animal (this time, it was an elephant!). It's something I've started. I figure, since we're in the army..and we'll be moving around a lot..he'll get to see many zoos..so I buy him a shirt at each one. He'll appreciate it later on in life, I tell myself (even though he won't).
We didn't take many pictures while there..but here's what we ended up with:
It was the first play date type of thing I've ever gone to..but I enjoyed it. It was interesting hanging around another mother again..it's kind of like..as soon as you feel like you're alone and no one understands *anything* you're going through.. you have one of these meetings. Then you don't feel so crazy anymore.
