Dresses and Bats

Holy crap. I was browsing through A Dress A Day and came across a link to someone's ebay account. Holy. Crap. I've been toying with the idea of dressing like a 50's housewife for a while now..because I think it's amazingly adorable..but could never really find what I was looking for. Until now. Check out these 50's full skirted dresses! I'm so in love. That's not to say that those bitches will fit me..because they won't..but it's nice to look at what..what could be.. and what *will* be. God dammit. I'm also totally asking my mom for really sweet ruffley 50's inspired aprons for christmas. Totally easy for her..and it's something I actually *want*. I've also decided I should learn how to sew. I can do the basic stuff (I did take home ec), but I want to be all crafty like my mom. "What? All 17 of my grandchildren need halloween costumes? What do they all want to be?" She whips them all up as well as works 40 hours a week. My mom's the shit.
Speaking of Halloween costumes. Calix has first dibs on nana's sewing...because it's his first Halloween..and nana just loves him more than the others (okay, that's a lie). He's going to be *drum roll* a bat! hahaha..awww. He had the cutest widow's peak when he was much smaller and it just made me want him to be a little dracula or bat for Halloween. Everyone said "Abby, they're only small for so long. You're supposed to have them be cute little creatures and save the horrible costumes for when they're older." Screw that. I think Calix as a bat *is* cute. He* especially requested to have his wings attached to his arms so that when he flails about, it'll be like he's flying.

Okay. I need coffee.

*by "he" I mean I
