We've been discussing our next move lately. We can basically go anywhere we want with Orion's MOS..and ya know, we were originally thinking back to Colorado buttttttt then it's like well, my mother's moving to California about March-ish..and yes, my brothers would still be there and that part'd be nice..but I don't have friends there anymore. They all either moved..disowned me when I got pregnant with Calix..or I'm just not friends with them anymore for whatever reason. As much as we love Colorado..do we really want to go back there?
We have the option of going to Europe..but I'd rather save that for when the kids are a bit older and can take everything in..and maybe..just maybe appreciate it a bit.
I'm stuck on Fort Hamilton. I know it's not like a massive post or anything..but come on, ya'll...it's in Brooklyn! It's like 80 miles from the town I grew up in in Jersey and I still have all kinds of friends in Jersey..so that's a plus. Plus? It's in New York. I love New York to an extreme and and and when Christmas comes around, hello!!! Rockefeller Center and and and..hey, wanna go to Times Square to watch the ball drop? Shoot, let's go! I miss the east coast like you wouldn't believe..so as soon as I heard Brooklyn was an option I was like "sign us up!!". Thing is, Orion would probably be working at the hospital there and he's not sure if he'd like that..and then the housing issue. How long is the waiting list for on post housing exactly? I've been looking at off post housing..and I mean..geeze. BAH for around there is $2000 a month..and anything above and beyond that comes out of our pockets plus ya know..utilities. I don't wanna be stuck in some small apartment I'm not too fond of just because I want to live in Brooklyn for a couple of years. So I'm thinking the deciding factor on that is the whole waiting list thing and if we can for sure get into a house or something on post. Otherwiseeee..
My next choice would be Fort Lewis in Washington. Or..the post in Arizona (I forget the name right about now) because I have family there and how nice would it be to hang out with a couple of my sisters from time to time?
Decisions..decisions..

You can come to Monterey!!! We have all kinds of cool shit.... plus we have housing (not apartments.... houses) and O can study at the DLI (defense language institute) and learn Afghani or whatever other language he wants. Yayyyy come to California!!!!!
Well Fort Lewis, duh! But yeah our luck, once you got orders, we'd be gone! But serious, you're pretty outdoors-y like, and there is so much to do around here, plus all the zoo's and parks to take the kids. Housing waiting list aren't too long, and most the area's are new!
Monterey? after you said that, I looked it up in the installation manual and dude..sorry, no. heheh but that's cute of you to try!
and crystal..who said I was outdoors-y? news to me. hahaha. I have dreams of being that kind of person..but I'm just not right about now. maybe when the kids actually *want* to go play outside I'll be that person. but shhh...Lewis is #2 on the list anyway, doll..you don't need to talk it up for me. I already know how great it is! hahaha
Pfffftttt... what's wrong with Monterey?? You don't like the beach?
